WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is analytical, commercialy aware, highly organised, proactive, and comtortable working with numbers and financial models.
You should be able to move beyond simply
reporting numbers and explain what the
numbers mean, why they changed,and what the business should do next.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Financial Analyst will serve as the insight engine of the Finance Team, ensuring cash is planned, pricing supports healthy margins, and financially impactful decisions are supported by robust models and analysis.
The role will provide leadership with the financial insights needed to make informed decisions on product pricing, credit pricing, funding costs, budgets, and business performance, while supporting Board and funder reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIREMENTS
•Prepare monthly management accounts.
Including financial Statements, budget
comparisons. Variance analysis, and commentary.
•Own and maintain the roling 13-week
cash forecast, covering collections, sales,
disbursements, funder repayments payroll, and vendors.
•Lead the annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting process, including consolidation, budget-holder inputs, and spend tracking
Develop financial models for pricing,
margins, unit economics, BNPL structures,
landed cost,market place fees,and
tenor/grade pricing.
•Build business cases and financial models for new products,supplier deals,distributorship opportunities, and funding options in Naira and USD.
•Prepare Board and funder reporting packs
in collaboration with the CFO, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all reports,
• Maintain company KPIS, OKKS, financial
scorecards, and KPI definitions, and support
monthly business reviews
•Ensure the integrity of finance workbooks, models, formulas, data, and reporting
processes while identitying opportunities to automate recurring analysis.
Requirements
- • 2-5 years of experience in FP&A,financial analysis, audit, consuiting or corporate finance.
- • At least 2 years of experience owning a monthly reporting or forecasting cycle.
- •Strong financial modelling skills(three-statement models, scenarios ,sensitivities, cash forecasting,unit economies,pricing).
- • Strong understanding of management
- reporting, variance analvsis. financial commentary, and KPI development.
- • Solid knowledge of double-entry accounting, accruals, IFRS presentation, lending, and inventory accounting
- Advanced proficiency In excel and google Sheets (SUMIFS, XLOOKUP,
- linked workbooks, data validation formula auditing, and charting).
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate financial analysis into clear, actionable business insights.
- •Strong attention to detail, sound judgement. ownership of deadlines, and the confidence to challenge assumptions and financial data using evidence.
- CERTIFICATIONS
- Any of the following will be an advantage
- •ACCA ICAN
- •CFA Level 1 or 2
- •CIMA
- NICE-TO-HAVE
- •Experience in lending, fintech,, or energy access
- in Nigeria.
- • Working knowledge of IFRS 9 and IFRS 15, particularly as applied to lending or marketplaces •Experience preparing investor or lender due diligence packs.
